Child safety standards

SceneHai is for adults only, and has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 112 (India's emergency number). For a child who needs help, call Childline on 1098. Then tell us, so we can act on the account involved.

Our standard

SceneHai does not allow any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, grooms or endangers a child. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, asking a minor for images or to meet, sexual comments about minors, and using a Scene to get access to a child. There are no exceptions and no warnings: accounts that break this standard are removed for good.

How we prevent it

  • Adults only. Everyone must be 18 or older. Sign-up asks for a date of birth and refuses anyone under 18.
  • Verified accounts. Every account is verified with a phone number.
  • No private messages. Conversations happen in a Scene's group chat, open only to the host and the guests they accepted.
  • Hosts choose who joins. Nobody can turn up to a Scene without the host accepting them first.
  • Private places are protected. The address of a Scene at someone's home is shown only to accepted guests, those hosts must verify their phone, and such Scenes are never one-on-one.
  • Report and block everywhere. Any profile or Scene can be reported or blocked from inside the app.

How to report a concern

  1. In the app: open the profile or Scene, tap the ⋯ menu, choose Report, and describe what you saw. Mention that it is about a child.
  2. By email: write to hello@scenehai.com with the subject "Child safety concern". Include the username or Scene, and what happened. You don't need an account to email us.

Please don't download, copy or forward any abusive image, even to report it. Describe it and tell us where it is.

What we do

  • Child safety reports go to the front of the queue. We aim to review every one within 24 hours.
  • We remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved, including new accounts made to get around a ban.
  • We keep the information the law requires us to keep, and report child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the police and the relevant authorities in India, including through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in), as required by Indian law, including the POCSO Act.
  • We cooperate with law enforcement requests about child safety.
