Delete your account

You can delete your SceneHai account and your data at any time. It takes under a minute in the app.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open SceneHai and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Tap the settings icon in the top corner.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your account is deleted straight away.

Can't sign in? Ask us by email

Email hello@scenehai.com with the subject "Delete my SceneHai account", from the email address on your account, and include the phone number you signed up with so we can find it. We'll confirm it's you and delete the account within 7 days.

What is deleted

  • Your profile: name, username, photo, bio, date of birth, gender, interests and home area.
  • Your sign-in details: phone number, email and password.
  • Scenes you hosted, including their photos. Upcoming ones are cancelled and guests are told.
  • Your requests to join, check-ins, attendance marks and your Shows up score.
  • Your messages in Scene chats and your questions on Scenes.
  • Who you follow and who follows you, your saved Scenes, your blocks, and your notification settings.

What may be kept

  • Reports made about your account, or records of a ban, for a limited time, so a removed person can't simply return and so we can meet legal duties.
  • Backups held by our hosting provider, which are overwritten on their normal schedule.
  • Venues you added that other people have since used for their own Scenes. They stay, without your name.

This can't be undone. If you come back later, you start a new account with no history.

Delete some of your data, keep your account

Much of it you can remove yourself in the app:

  • Change your name, username, photo and bio in Profile → Edit profile.
  • Unfollow people, or remove someone from your followers, from your followers and following lists.
  • Unsave Scenes from the Scene page or the Saved tab in My Scenes.
  • Remove venues you added from the Venues you added section of your profile.
  • Cancel a Scene you're hosting from its ⋯ menu.

For anything else, for example a message, a photo, your birthday or gender, or your attendance history, email hello@scenehai.com from the email address on your account and say what you want removed. We'll confirm it's you and remove it within 7 days, without deleting your account.

Request data deletion by email

Only want to take a break?

You don't have to delete anything. In Settings you can turn off "Let people find you" and switch off notifications, then log out.
