Terms of service

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using SceneHai (the app and scenehai.com), you agree to these terms, our Privacy policy and our Community guidelines. SceneHai is owned and operated by Abhishek Dhabas, India.

2. Who can use SceneHai

• You must be 18 or older.
• You need your own phone number and email address, and you confirm both.
• One account per person. Your account is yours alone; don't share it or sell it.
• Your profile must be you: your real name or the name you go by, and your own photo.

3. What SceneHai is

SceneHai is a place to post and join Scenes: small plans with a purpose, a place and a time. People post them; other people ask to join; hosts decide who comes.

SceneHai is not the organiser of any Scene. We don't run events, own venues, employ hosts or guests, or supervise what happens when people meet. A listed venue appearing in the app does not mean the venue has agreed to or endorses a Scene. SceneHai is not a dating service.

4. Hosting a Scene

• Describe it truthfully: what it is, where, when, how many people, and who pays.
• Mark the place honestly. A home or any private address must be marked as a private place. Marking a private address as public is a serious breach.
• You need a verified phone number to host at a private place, and private Scenes can't be one-on-one.
• Only host at places you have the right to use. You are responsible for your guests' safety there, as any host would be.
• Turn up, check in, and take the roll call fairly. Cancel as early as you can, with a reason.
• SceneHai does not take payments. Any money (a split bill, a turf booking) is between the people at the Scene.

5. Joining a Scene

• Only ask to join if you mean to come. The host may accept or decline, and doesn't owe a reason.
• If you're accepted and can't make it, cancel in the app as early as you can.
• Don't share a private address, "the clue" or a join link with anyone who wasn't accepted.

6. The Shows up score

SceneHai shows how reliably each person keeps their plans. It is built from check-ins at the spot, the host's roll call and guests confirming the host came. Cancelling within 24 hours of the start, or being marked absent without a check-in, counts against it. Trying to fake a check-in, for example with a fake-location app or by passing on the host's code, is a breach of these terms.

7. Your safety is your decision

We give you tools: request-to-join, place badges, the Shows up score, verified phone numbers, report and block. They reduce risk; they don't remove it. We do not run background checks, and a verified phone number only means the person controls that number.

You decide whether to attend, where to go and who to trust. Meet in public the first time, tell someone where you're going, arrange your own way home, and leave if anything feels off. In an emergency call 112. Read our Safety page.

8. What you must not do

The Community guidelines are part of these terms. In short, you must not:

• harass, threaten, stalk or discriminate against anyone;
• use SceneHai for sexual solicitation, escorting or anything illegal;
• post false, misleading or spam content, or advertise without our permission;
• pretend to be someone else, or create accounts to get around a block or a ban;
• collect other people's data, scrape the service, or try to break its security.

9. Your content

You own what you post: photos, text, Scenes, messages. You give SceneHai permission to store it and show it to other people in the ways the app is designed to, for as long as it's on SceneHai. You confirm you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

10. Reports, suspension and ending your account

SceneHai has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Anyone can report a person or a Scene from inside the app, and block anyone. We aim to act on every report within 24 hours by removing content that breaks these terms and, where needed, removing the account that posted it.

We review reports and may warn, restrict, suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, sometimes without notice when safety requires it. You can delete your account at any time in Settings; see Delete your account.

11. The service

SceneHai is free to use. We may change, add or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We provide it "as is", without promises that it will always work or that you will find a plan or people that suit you.

12. Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, SceneHai is not liable for what users say or do, on the app or in person, including injury, loss or damage arising from a Scene, a venue, or another user's conduct. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

13. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Using SceneHai after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
