Jaipur Meetups: Where to Meet New People in Jaipur (2026 Guide)
New to Jaipur, back after years away, or just bored of the same four people? Here's where Jaipur actually meets.
Jaipur has everything a good social life needs: cafés, forts, parks, festivals and some of the best food in the country. What it doesn’t have is one obvious place to find people to do those things with. Most plans still happen inside groups that already know each other.
Here’s where to start if you want to meet new people in Jaipur.
The short answer
The best ways to meet people in Jaipur are regular morning activities at Central Park, sunrise treks to Nahargarh, food walks in the old city, workshops and events at Jawahar Kala Kendra, and small group plans with people who share one interest. Go back to the same thing more than once; that’s when acquaintances become friends.
1. Mornings at Central Park
Central Park is Jaipur’s favourite place to walk, run and do yoga, with a long jogging track and the same faces every morning. Pick a time and stick to it for a couple of weeks. Regulars notice regulars.
2. Sunrise at Nahargarh
The walk up to Nahargarh Fort for sunrise is a classic, and it’s better in a small group, both for the conversation and for safety on the trail in the dark. The view over the city at dawn gives everyone something to talk about.
3. Eat your way through the old city
Jaipur’s food is a great excuse to meet people. Masala Chowk at Ram Niwas Bagh brings many of the city’s famous street food stalls into one open-air spot, and a food walk through the bazaars of the old city, around Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar, works perfectly with four or five people sharing plates.
4. Art, theatre and workshops at JKK
Jawahar Kala Kendra hosts exhibitions, theatre, music and workshops through the year. Workshops are the best of these for meeting people, because you spend a few hours working next to the same group.
5. Learn a craft
Jaipur is known for crafts like block printing, with traditional workshops in places such as Sanganer and Bagru. A hands-on class with a small group is a relaxed way to meet people, and you leave with something you made.
6. Volunteer at a festival
The Jaipur Literature Festival in January and the city’s other cultural festivals need volunteers, and volunteering puts you on a team for several days. It’s one of the quickest ways to make friends who share your interests.
7. Fly kites on Makar Sankranti
On 14 January, half of Jaipur is on a rooftop flying kites. If you’re new, it’s the one day the whole city invites strangers up. Say yes to every invitation.
8. Find a regular café
Areas like C-Scheme are full of cafés where students, freelancers and young professionals spend their evenings. Become a regular at one and you’ll soon recognise people, and they’ll recognise you.
9. Join or start a small plan
Big events are fun, but friendships form in small groups of four to eight people who meet more than once: a weekly badminton game, a book discussion, a Sunday breakfast.
That’s exactly what SceneHai is for. People nearby post small plans like “sunrise walk up to Nahargarh” or “board games night in C-Scheme”, and you request to join. The host decides who comes, the group gets a chat, and you meet at a public place. SceneHai is launching in Jaipur in December 2026, and you can join the waitlist now.
10. Make the second plan
Meeting someone once is easy. Friendship is the second and third time. Before you leave, suggest a specific next plan: “Same walk next Sunday?” Specific beats “let’s catch up sometime” every time.
Staying safe
- Meet first in public places: parks, cafés, busy markets.
- Go in small groups when you’re meeting people for the first time.
- Tell someone where you’ll be, especially for early-morning treks.
